for many years.
Due to the unavailability of vital raw materials, Fujifilm
were forced to halt production of the emulsion in 2005. Since then, the
research and development teams at Fujifilm in Japan have been working hard
to develop substitute raw materials and new manufacturing technologies
that have made it possible to restart the production of this famous transparency

advanced cyan, magenta, and yellow couplers, new Fujichrome Velvia 100 gives
photographers the saturation they require with the added advantages of higher
speed and finer grain.
The new film boasts an RMS granularity of 8, an improvement
over Velvia 50 and ranking it alongside other Fujifilm professional film
products, such as Fujichrome Astia 100F, Fujichrome Provia 100F and Fujichrome
Velvia 100F as the finest grained in its speed class. The new colour couplers
employed in Fujichrome Velvia 100 significantly improve colour stability

Fujichrome Provia 400X is a
daylight-type, high-image-quality colour reversal film with an ISO speed
rating of 400. It boasts one of the world’s highest levels of grain quality
and sharpness, while delivering the same vivid colour reproduction and
regulated grey balance as that of ISO 100 film. It produces fine results
in push/pull processing for exposures ranging from –1/2
stop to +2 stops. These qualities, together with its high colour saturation,
make Provia 400X a highly versatile film for many applications, including
landscape, nature, sports, portrait and fashion photography.
Provia 400X uses
Fujifilm’s newly developed Epitaxial
Sigma Crystal (ESC) technology. The result is an ISO-400 film with an extremely
high granularity (RMS11) approaching that of ISO-100 reversal film.
